Information Status
HSD's General Assistance for Disabled Adults and Unrelated Children program provides cash assistance to dependent children in need and adults with disabilities who are not eligible for other cash assistance programs. Cash is deposited monthly into an Electronic Benefits Card, which is similar to a debit card.
Eligibility Requirements
People with disabilities,
1) Must be living in New Mexico, and have demonstrated intent to remain in the state through the duration of services; 2) Must not be receiving cash assistance from other government programs (excluding SNAP, Medicaid, LIHEAP, and similar programs).
